PRECIOUS TIME

Each letter is hand-embroidered and fully covered in beads, turning the alphabet from a functional system of communication into a series of time-intensive objects.

The hours invested in each letter become embedded in the work, making time visible, tactile, and inseparable from language itself. In a world where words are produced instantly, circulated rapidly, and often forgotten just as quickly, this beaded alphabet slows communication down.

Letters can be formed, rearranged, and reinterpreted, inviting reflection on attention, value, and the weight of what we choose to say. By assigning hours of labour to every letter, I want to ask: if every word required time, care, and physical effort, which words would be worth creating?

This project explores the relationship between language, time, and material through the slow process of hand embroidery.

Precious Time explores embroidery as a language of care. Each letter of the alphabet is meticulously embroidered and embellished with beads, transforming written language into a tactile collection of handcrafted forms.
